Thursday was another washout, we took a field trip to a veterinarian. The kids had fun listening to the pooches heartbeats and even got to hear one with a murmur.
Today was Firehall field trip, my oldest raked 4 lawns to raise money for a local canine rescue, had coffee with a friend and as soon as I am done here, we're starting to mummify a chicken. At 7pm. At least tomorrow we'll get to sleep in...right? And of course, to go with our mummified chicken and Story of the World, we're reading this gem:

Back in the day of kidlessness...I was a slob. Not just a cluttered mess type of slob...a full out bonafide SLOB. Seriously, my mom came over to 'show me how to clean' one day. It was bad...very bad.
Enter child #1. Super neurotic clean freak mama was born! Everything was disinfected daily, everything was organized and labeled. I even had clean charts that I followed religiously. Child number 2 comes along and hubby thought I turned over a new leaf with child 1, well, child 2 was a preemie and susceptible to all sorts of ailments and had a weakened immune system, so...I'm sure he thought I had a germ phobia for awhile.
Child #3...pretty easy baby, could continue on my merry way cleaning and disinfecting.
Child #4....couldn't admit that I couldn't handle four kids 4 and under, so stayed up till the wee hours of the morning baking and cleaning....that lasted a few months before breakdown mode set in.
Fast forward a few years and I will honestly say I am not a disgusting slob....everything is clean somewhat, but my organization skills have been lost. I can't find a single cupboard, drawer or closet that is neat and tidy. I feel overwhelmed and know my house is in disaster mode. I've resolved to do it one step at a time. Tonight I cleaned and organized under my sink and put the dog grooming supplies that were in3 different spots (don't ask) in one drawer in the bathroom. Yay me!!
One drawer/cupboard/closet at a time. That's it, that's all.
And for a little lightheartedness, my box monster attacking his sister. :D
